All roads lead to the World renowned Mount Panorama Racing Circuit, Bathurst NSW
during the weekend of March 17th and 18th 2012 for the inaugural annual running of
the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest.
Organisers of the highly successful Valvoline Autofest Car Festivals have scheduled yet
another high-octane event and expect large crowds from across the country to come see
the cars fly at Mount Panorama.
The Bathurst Valvoline Autofest will be held in and around the month of March over the
next 5 years and will feature events such as Go To Whoa, Autokana, Dyno Comp, Indoor
and Outdoor Show N Shine, Trade Displays and everyone's favorite, the all Mighty
Burnout Competition.
Team Extreme will be making a New South Wales appearance and are sure to excite all
with their awesome supercharged weapons in a traditional Ford V Holden Showdown.
A variety of entertainment is on offer with rides for the kids, merchandise and trade
displays. The event is alcohol free, fully catered and is an affordable family day out.
Organiser, Di Adams said that the response since the first announcement of the Bathurst
Car Festival event had exceeded her expectations.
"We have received entries from most State's of Australia and the Bathurst Regional
Council and local Bathurst community groups have been fantastic to work with”.
Organisers said they anticipated the weekend of horsepower to quickly become one of
the most exciting Motor Sport events in New South Wales.
Events such as the Valvoline Autofest play an important role in regional economies
through boosting spend on retail and accommodation.”
A multi media advertising campaign promoting Bathurst Valvoline Autofest will
commence shortly, with a focus on TV and Radio in Victoria, New South Wales and
Queensland.
Tickets can be purchased from the gate at the following prices:
Adult: $30, Family: $60, Under 15: $10. Weekend passes are available for: Adult: $50
and Family $100. Student concession with a Valid ID is available for $10 per day.

Come on in and enjoy a wander through our cottages. Each cottage is a large, separate and unique home for you and your family or group. Each is filled with individual and fabulous heritage character. The main street of the Bathurst CBD is at your doorstep and you are only a moments walk to Famous Machattie Park, fabulous resturants, churches and historical buildings and areas.

This home has been named for the fragrant red roses that grow in the front yard. It has great heritage character for your accommodation in Bathurst CBD. The rose theme has been tastefully carried throughout the 3 bedroom cottage. There is also a delightful photograph of a beautiful child in the formal lounge room whom we have named Kathleen Rose.

With 2 separate living areas, separate dining area and huge kitchen, this cottage is perfect for a large group or family. There are high ceilings in the large original living area of this heritage settler's cottage. Sleeps up to 9 with 1 queen room, one twin share room, one single bedroom and 2 available single beds on the large family room. There is also a double sofa bed in the formal lounge room which can be screened off to create a 4th bedroom.

Full kitchen, separate dining room, 2 lounge areas. 2 cozy wood fires. You even have your own yard area and off-street parking. All this accommodation in the Bathurst C.B.D and walking distance to the shopping center. This cottage is within walking distance to the Bathurst R.S.L club or Bathurst Panthers Rugby Leagues Club or even most of the local cafes.

Middle cottage is one of my favorites and the ideal place for your family or group. The 4 large bedrooms all have high ceilings and great character. There is an undercover outdoor entertainment area and second toilet that leads onto your own separate yard. Your cottage will sleep up to seven people in the two queen bedrooms, one twin room and one single bedrooms.

Catering for your family or group is facilitated by the fully equip kitchen, combined lounge dining room, combined laundry/ bathroom. There is a BBQ, available on request, to use in your private outdoor entertaining area. All in the CBD of Bathurst and walking distance to the shopping center and historical parts of Bathurst. This cottage is within walking distance to the Bathurst R.S.L club or Bathurst Panthers Rugby Leagues Club or even most of the local resturants.

We recently had a man contact us who had been researching his family history. Middle Cottage was where his family lived in the late 1800's.

This is a delightful three bedroom rustic cottage for your stay in Bathurst. Our guests love it as it is filled with great heritage character. Just perfect for 2 couples or a family as you will be comfortable in the two separate queen rooms and a there is also a single bedroom. Plus there is also a sofa bed in the lounge room. Sleeps up to seven people.

Your Jordan Creek Cottage is within walking distance to local historical sites, museums, the Bathurst R.S.L club or Bathurst Panthers Rugby Leagues Club or even most of the local resturants. It is easy to self-cater in the fully equip eat-in kitchen.

There is a large combined laundry/bathroom with a large luxurious bathtub, a shower over the bathtub and separate toilet. Your cozy wood fire or gas heater plus reverse cycle air conditioning make your cottage a very comfortable place to stay in all year round. In the winter months we include electric blankets onto the beds as well.

There are two separate side entrances from your private yard and an outdoor sitting area that has private tree lined creek views. The large yard and off-street parking will ensure your privacy, all in the C.B.D of Bathurst and within walking distance to the shopping center and much of what Bathurst has to offer. Welcome to your cottages. They are filled with a fabulous rustic heritage character that have a wonderful rural feel and views for city living. They have all been enhanced with the delights and comforts of home. See what our visitors comment on and see more about what they have to say on your cottage comfort and cosy decor. Much more like a best friend's home than impersonal hotel accommodation.

One of the main benefits our guests are surprised with, is the huge living space that each cottage has for you. Each one is a converted home within the C.B.D. of Bathurst and large enough to cater for large families.

You can choose one cottage or all three and we can accommodate up to 24 people in the three cottages. So perfect for your family gatherings, work groups or sport teams.

Check-in time is usually 2pm and check-out is 10am, however sometimes we can alter this for your convenience. Please include this in your wish-list when booking.

Included in your stay:

· Reasonable rates on a per person per night basis;

· All linen (clean sheets, thirsty towels, face washers, tea towel, bath mats). 400 thread Egyptian Cotton sheets are a luxury on your queen beds. We love the freshness of sun dried & open aired linen. So whenever possible we personally care for your linen.

Arrival to your cottage is easy.
From the train it is a level walk along historical Keppel St past the boutique shops, great Op. shopping and restaurants that are part of the area. Taxis are available at the station if you do not wish to walk the 5 blocks.
If you are driving we are situated very close to the intersection of Keppel & George St. Both of these streets are original in the town plan and run the length and width of Bathurst so both streets cross the main highway through town.

We take extra care to meticulously clean your cottage and set everything up for your personal requirements. You are located within minutes walk to the Bathurst Post Office and shopping centre, so it is perfect for city living for your family or group (google maps location).

Families:
A Friend came back to Bathurst for a wonderful family reunion over Christmas a couple of years ago. although she loves her parents & siblings dearly the idea that they all share the one house was too much for her. She chose A Settler's Cottage and spent a wonderful week there with her children able to visit Nanny & Pop and then come 'home' to their own beds, space and comforts.

So for that family wedding, graduation, 21st birthday, special event or just if everyone won't fit 'home' A Settler's Cottage can be hired to be a second or third home to accommodate everyone in comfort.

Bathurst is also home to a number of very good boarding schools. We can accommodate visiting families for enrolments, graduations, and holidays.

Friends weekend escape:
A Setter's Cottage is loaded with lots of space, character, comforts and within the CBD it is perfect for a fun getaway with a group of your favorite friends or family.

Sports groups:
Hockey, soccer, tennis, netball and footballare just some of the sports that are played to a high level in Bathurst. Many major competitions are held locally and A Settlers Cottage can cater for your accommodation. With a private back yard then a larger communal yard there is enough space for either off street parking or a casual game. The 3 cottages are joined and can accommodate up to 24 people. This means you can comfortably fit all your team members in the one location.

Workers:
Bathurst is a busy growing town and with the university and many building projects we see lots of people in town for work or study purposes. Our competitive rates and weekly specials as well as the fantastic location make A Settler's Cottage a popular place for a mid-week stay.

Travellers:
We make individual nights available which means you can choose a cottage as a stopover to your final destination. Bathurst is approx 2.5 hours drive from Sydney and 2.5 hours to Dubbo. So a perfect "stop, rest, revive" location.

Prices:

The following prices are a guide only.We pride ourselves on being very reasonably priced for groups and families so please call or email us for your personal quote. We like to stay price comparable with other local accommodation so if you find a cheaper quote for a similar stay please call and give us the opportunity to match it or better it for you.
Generally your per night rate will be worked out as a $55.00 cottage fee then $32.00 per person with a minimum night rate of $95.00. Weekly and long term rates available on application. Mates rates for our regulars. Can work out to be less than $20 per person per night.

CONDITIONS OF YOUR STAY

All our cottages are smoke free zones. This is to ensure the comfort of all guests. We do provide comfortable outdoor areas and smokers pots for ALL buts. Please ensure all your buts are disposed of thoughtfully.

While you are in the cottage the responsible use of the items supplied within are your responsibility. We reserve the right to invoice you for any willful damage done during your stay by any of your guests.

TIMBER FIRES

Some of the cottages contain wood fires. We want you to enjoy the cosy warmth of a winter fire. It adds to your winter cottage experience.

Please ensure you follow the simple rules for your safety.

· Fires only to be used/ managed by a responsible adult.

· Ensure all furniture, bags, and children remain safely away from fires and hot ashes.

· Do not burn fires on high or with doors open as this will become extremely dangerous. Once timber is burning turn down the fire.

· Ensure that you only bring wood into your cottage as you wish to burn it. Wood is to be stored in the bin outside.

· When cleaning out the fire place all ash in the 44 gallon drum located outside your yard. Use the metal bucket provided for this purpose.

· Fire extinguisher & fire blanket will be located in the kitchen.

Daily fireplace clean up and set up is available for a small daily fee.

Bathurst region

The Settlers Cottages were built as original worker's cottages for the town and converted to self contained accommodation approx. 20 years ago. We have had the fun of owning and running them since November 2009 when we re-named them to reflect the history and experience they offer.

Bathurst is a lovely historical city and thanks to the local council many of the original buildings have been preserved and restored. Your cottages are part of this heritage and part of historical Keppel St. This street begins at the train station (where Ben Chifley used to work) all the way through the town. Your cottages are in the center of town so the main historic buildings of town are all within minutes easy walk.

For an easy guide to all local events you can search the local Visitor center events page. this will help you plan your activities here. There is also a page dedicated to events you don't want to miss. These pages are updated regularly.

Mount Panorama is Australia's Premier race track. It hosts many exciting adrenalin and motor racing events. One of my favorite of these events is Newtons Playground is a fantastic gravity festival that sees street luge, skate boards, roller blades and street skeleton racing at 70kms an hour through the famous downhill part of the circuit.

Bathurst also is home to one of Australia's best private collections of fossils and minerals. The Mineral and Fossil Museum is home to the Somerville Collection. Local resident, Warren Somerville, began collecting rocks and specimen when he was 7yrs old and has donated the best of his collection to the city of Bathurst. It contains, amongst many extraordinary pieces, 2 complete dinosaurs and is within two minutes walk from your cottage. This museum is one of my personal favorites.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery is on historic Keppel St. A modern well-equipped and celebrated gallery that focuses on Australian art from 1955.

Ben Chifley Home. No:10 Busby st Bathurst. A great restored historical home of the Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley. It includes a beautiful restored pianola and it is easy to imagine Ben and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoying evenings of popular songs.

There are lots of places to visit and seasonal events that are posted on the visitors center website.

Other fabulous places and interesting things:
Machattie Park - just a few steps from your cottage. This Park was established with Bathurst town and now has many stunning mature trees and the most beautiful duck pond. It is a a popular place for weddings, photos or just great place to relax with the family.
