A lovely New Years Eve experience in Bathurst.
Loved the old charm & rustic feel of the cottage.
Very cosy, much better than a motel room.
Lots of room and privacy.
We will definitely recommend the cottages to friends and work collegues.
Thanks for the hospitality.

We had a celebration in Bathurst to which we had visitors from interstate attend.
We booked Middle cottage & Jordan Creek cottage for some of our guests.
Gerarda was very helpful, the cottages were awesome and being close to town enabled our guests to wander and discover some of the pubs and shops at their leisure.
The cottages were peaceful even though being close to town.
They were clean with everything that that was needed.

Thank you for helping us have a memorable weekend.

Dear Gerarda & Tony,

Our 2nd time staying with you at the Rose Cottage and both times have always been welcoming and easy. After a long and sometimes cold and wet day at Mt Panorama it was always nice to come home to a warm cottage with everything that we required.

Many Thanks, Ben Watson (and the rest of the Bathurst 2011 Group), Adelaide SA

Neat Place, arrived at about 5pm. Very pleased with our choice.

From NZ where my family were pioneers in the King Country cutting bush from the farm land and shaping the country. I love history and the work that was done by our forbears.

There's a heap of history here. Love it.

Bathurst was cold in the middle of winter.
Basketball stadium was cold, everything outside was cold, but once the heater was on the cottage became warm and cosy and a place to come back to and watch a DVD with our feet up.
What a way to relax.
Then climbing into bed knowing the electric blanket was on meant that " warm and cosy" was again what we would get.
Would recommend to others.

 Thankyou for your hospitality.

Dear Gerarda & Tony

 Thank you for the accommodation of the 'quirky house'. {Jordan Creek Cottage}

Clean and cosy would be the by-word of our experience.

We particularly enjoyed the warmth of the fire which was well stocked and easy to use. The bed in the second double was a bit hard, which made it slightly uncomfortable.

Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the 'quirky cottage'

Thank you very much.

Rose Cottage

A Cold morning but warm in the cottage in front of the heater.
Had a good stay, most comfortable. Enjoyed by all.

The quirky cupboard door is unique, appreciated for the wood it is made of.

Found the cottage had plenty of space, appreciated by the family. Comfortable beds, warm at night.

Liked the separate dining areas. Good near access to town centre enabling successful shopping excursion.

Would come here again.

We would like to thank Gerarda for a great stay at the Rose Cottage over Easter, nothing was too much trouble.
My friends and I enjoyed a great weekend of motorsport and were able to come back to a clean and cozy cottage and we loved that all seven of us were able to enjoy a hot shower.
The location was perfect, we had loads of fun.
Thanks again

Graeme and I had a most enjoyable stay.
For me personally the things I loved the most were:
Due to the length of the house and the amount of bedrooms, I was able to leave Graeme right at the other end...ha ha, no more snoring blues!
It was wonderful that the kitchen contained all the things I needed to cook, thus saving money. We were only able to enjoy our stay during the evenings as we visited for business reasons, but the aura of the historic house was great to experience.
We loved the style of house, the comfort, but not the spider!!! The little devil managed to get away each time...may he live a long life.
We would not hesitate to stay there again and the name "Rose Cottage" added that something special to the house.
Thanks

Retired couple, looked into A settler's Cottage while looking to rent a house in Bathurst. It was a very apprehensive start as house-hunting is, but with the quiet and privacy of a comfortable, spacious abode we were suddenly looking at 'Rose Cottage' as not only a place to retreat but as a home. It was warm, cosy, and historic- in keeping with our exploration and orientation into Bathurst history.
Halfway through our week our first choice of home to rent was approved and nerves relaxed. More exploring from the cottage - messages to children- learning to work the washing machine- grocery shopping and producing semi-gourmet meals from the spacious kitchen. We are feeling that, at last, this was the right choice.
Our prior weeks were spent at the Central and South Coast, but Bathurst is central to all family and friends and has everything but the beach. What else could we want?
I have explored the heated pool complex, contacted community bodies for volunteer work and found my craft groups. We have discovered the Carrington, where we will enjoy live shows and have eaten at the Services Club. We have counted up the coffee shops and hair salons to much amazement and look forward to being part of this community.
Rose Cottage was a wonderful, warm, peaceful start to our stay.
Thank you.
Annette & Brian.

A four girl school reunion- Why Bathurst?..an enjoyable 3 hour train journey from Sydney. We enjoyed our three days in Bathurst, got into the history of the area with a visit to Abercrombie House and the Kelso Anglican graveyard tour- daylight hours. Nights were spent in the local pubs. Park Hotel very friendly with the proprietor having once managed the pub near our school (Kingsgrove) many decades ago. The Irish pub with a good atmosphere and great food. not to mention a pizza in the well known Ribbon Gang Lane- the history of which unfolded from our cemetary walk. Finally but not last our accommodation has certainly added positively to our Bathurst experience.
Thank you to Gerarda & Tony

Rustic Rose Cottage BathroomHello Gerarda
Just a short note to say thank you for renting your property to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the home to be very spacious and clean and will certainly stay again next year. One thing I would have liked to have seen on your website was some extra photos of the property. Bearing this in mind I took some photos and put them together for you so that if anyone requests some further photos or you would like to use these you are most welcome. I took three photos of the bathroom and created a panorama. One other thing. I was admiring the photos in the lounge and dining room. Are they family members? Just beautiful.

Thanks again Kindest regards

Vicki Ravnjak

[Owners entry] Thanks for such a lovely email and the gift of your time to create the collage of your cottage stay. I am just in the process of learning how to blog and will post historical info for those that are interested. The pictures Vicki is talking about will also be included.

Thank you very much for your great hospitality over the weekend. We liked how you had lots of space as we needed it for all our luggage and golf clubs. It was good how you provided us with glad wrap and such. We thought it was difficult to try and close the bathroom door with it's lock.

Thank you once again.

[owner's entry] sorry about the door lock. It is a lovely old brass lock and key and obviously was being difficult for you. I am reluctant to change it to a new modern one as it so adds to the look of A Settler's Cottage.
